Paliochori, Milos
Widely regarded as the best beach in Milos, Paliochori is divided into west, central and east. Several kilometers long, Paliochori features crystal-clear water reaching to the shore's dark sand and beautifully colored small pebbles.
The water is warm in several spots due to the underwater mineral springs. Imposing rock formations ashore stand as a testament to the volcanic origin of Milos. Sulphur as well as other ores and minerals lend spectacular colors to the Paliochori landscape.
Paliochori is the discovery site of the "Milos Hoard", a remarkable collection of unique ancient Milian coins, now on exhibit at the London Numismatic Museum.
There are 3 tavernas in the main beach of Paliochori, several lodging establishments, beach bars as well as a bar and nightclub in Paliochori west. In the summer months there is frequent bus service to the port of Adamas, which is about 10 km. (6 miles) away via paved road.
